The VMware vRealize Orchestrator plug-in for Site Recovery Manager allows Site Recovery Manager administrators to simplify the management of their Site Recovery Manager infrastructure by extending the robust workflow automation platform of Orchestrator.
This release of the Orchestrator plug-in for Site Recovery Manager is compatible with VMware vRealize Orchestrator 7.0.1.
So let’s start by grabbing the binaries from here:
VMware vRealize Orchestrator Plug-In for vSphere SRM 6.1.1
We’ll first start by configuring vRO authentication.
Pay Attention – You must configure Orchestrator to use vCenter Single Sign-On and the vCenter Server plug-in before you install the Orchestrator plug-in for Site Recovery Manager
Set the following configuration
- Authentication mode: vSphere
- Host address: the address of the PSC server. In case that the PSC is embeded, then it will be the vCenter Server address.
Now, fill in the username and password for the registration
Next, add admin group. I’m using the vsphere.local\administrators group
And we’re done with configuring vRO authentication!
Now, we’re good to go and can continue to install the SRM plugin.
From the main menu, navigate to ‘Manage Plug-Ins’, and load the SRM plugin vmoapp file.
Next, click ‘Install’.
Launch the vRO client, login, and execute the ‘Configure Local Sites’ workflow.
(The workflow is located under: Library -> SRM -> Configuration
When completed, execute the ‘Configure Remote Site’ workflow, and select the local site (AKA protected site).
That’s a wrap!
You can now navigate to Administer tab and verify that you can see both SRM sites.
